Hello there! I'm Vikrant.
Welcome to my webpage.

I am a passionate and hardworking material engineer, who loves to solve material-based problems by connecting the dots between structure, property, and processing of the material via advanced characterizations.

Have 10+ years of experience in the field of material science including academic course curriculum and research work.

Currently, I am a Ph.D. student in the Department of Material Science and Engineering at Arizona State University working under the guidance of Dr. Kiran Solanki. My Ph.D. research work is focused on understanding the role of alloy microstructure on the Corrosion behavior of metallic alloys i.e. Magnesium alloys, Aluminium alloys, and Nickel based alloys. I have also received the opportunity to work in collaboration with various national labs such as Army Research Laboratory and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory to improve the corrosion resistance of Magnesium and Aluminium alloys through novel solid-state processing and surface severe plastic deformation processing techniques.

My research expertise is corrosion, electrochemistry, surface spectroscopy, failure analysis, material processing, mechanical behavior, design, and process optimization. Technical understanding and hands-on experience with various bulk and surface characterization techniques such as SEM + EDS, EBSD, XRD, ToF-SIMS, XPS, AFM, Raman, and Nano-indentation.
